This is a brilliant idea. A board game based on book knowledge that is suitable for all age groups to play. It really is true that even non-avid readers can join in. There are chance cards and question cards to spice the game up, and players can even invent their own rules. There is a bookshop, library and book corner which all add to the chance of collecting, or losing, more books for your bookshelf. The objective is to be the first to get home with your bookshelf filled with 6 books. The game can be played as a short 10 minute session or all night long if desired. I can see this game being very popular with bookgroup gatherings too.

Finally, a game just about books. And you don't even have to love or even read books to play it and win- The person who is winning may have their books stolen, or be forced to give them away. There is a great range of questions on 6 different genres, from very simple questions to incredibly difficult. You can choose whether to answer the questions straight away, or to hear the multiple choice options to make it easier. Also, the game play is different from every other board game I've played; you are no longer restricted to moving in one direction. all in all, I think this is a really fun game, and a new favourite of mine.

I don't generally enjoy board games but this is fantastic fun. I agree with a previous poster though, and would love to be able to stack the shelves neatly. Not sure why, as my own shelves are very higgledy piggledy! I can see this game would be great entertainment for bookgroups too.

Hello! I am a librarian in the States that heard about your game. Any chance to bring it over the pond? I would love to share with my book loving friends and family. Thanks - Kathy

It's such a pity that the little bookcases don't hold 6 books when the paper wrappers are put on. The books just fall off all over the place anyway, but it would be so satsifying to fill it up neatly! Game is really, really good though. Stella Birchall

Well Bookchase arrived impressively quickly on Friday and we've just had our first game. Very impressed! I particularly like the way that you can tailor the game so much to how much time you have and the questions are great - just the right mix of slightly obscure and easier ones. We're already arranging a Bookchase party over the Christmas holidays and one of our friends went off to order a couple of copies online. Haven't seen any copies yet in Waterstones over here as they'd go a bomb in Dublin!

What a fantastic idea for a game. I'm waiting for my copy with baited breath. I'm already a big fan of the Penguin mugs from Art Meet's Matter and this looks like something else that will have a permanent place on the present list!
