Some people have asked why - if you put all the dust jackets on the books - why, the books don’t fit on your shelf. They do fit but not side by side. This is one of those things that happens when you make anything. Our first batch of books was made incorrectly slightly too wide. We only had two choices: remake them and delay the launch (not desirable given how much interest and orders we’d received) or to live with the anomaly for a while until the next batch. To be honest I don’t think I was expecting anyone to put the dust jackets on anyway. Happy to hear people like this feature. Look out for new developments on this front later…

We’ll be delivering right up to Christmas. Probable last orders will be around 17th December but we’ll do our best after that. You can always call us to see what’s possible on 0870 2422 851.

BBC Wiltshire Radio love Bookchase. They invited Tony (that’s me) back for a follow-up interview this morning. Sue Davis was standing in for Olly Dearden (who probably couldn’t take the pressure of any more time with Tony (:-)). I’m not sure what Gordon, the Breadman from Gt. Bedwyn will think if he heard himself mentioned - I said that we’d done swaps - free bread between now and Christmas (he delivers locally) and he got a free copy of Bookchase in return. We’re happy - he’s happy (well, he hasn’t played yet…). Roll on Christmas.

In 6 weeks since we launched the website we’ve had over 12,000 visitors from 100 different countries. How have they all found out about us? And we have our own entry on Wikipedia and Board Game Geek. Check them out…

After the launch at Preshute School we’ve been swamped by demand. We’ve had such diverse retail enquires from the British Library to Southwark Cathedral. In our small town of Marlborough we now have three stockists! Ducks - the local toy shop will become the main stockist for us locally - which is great. Waterstone’s have only had their copies for a few days and are already re-ordering after some shops have sold out - which is wonderful news - I only hope we can keep up with demand.
Another exciting thing is the amount of interest we had from parents at the local school. If we replicate their interest just across the UK we could sell over 800,000 copies of Bookchase®. I think 2008 will be the Year of Bookchase. We’re going to have to do Bookchase® signings at this rate…

After another eventful day yesterday - BA handling problems far away - we were disappointed to hear of yet another delay. However, our friends at AllPort managing the delivery did us proud and, as a result, the first 36 copies arrived at the Art Meets Matter studios in Marlborough, Wiltshire UK 5 minutes ago. The other thousands have headed off to be despatched to our retail customers…
We’re going to be using these for our first proper world launch at Preshute Primary School. All the children are dressed as characters from books and this afternoon the whole school - over 200 children from tiny tots in reception to seriously neo-adolescent Yr 6s - will be racing round the board in the world’s first Bookchase school tournament.
We’ll post the photos, video and anything else we can think of as soon as we have it. We hope the local newspaper might turn up and maybe even BBC Points West - we live in hope…

We’re trying to guarantee that every order for Bookchase that we receive by 17 December will be delivered before Christmas. This is no small feat as we’ve already started to receive orders online from New York, Dublin and Amsterdam…how did they find out about it?
So, as long as you get your order in to us by then we’ll do our best. Can’t say fairer than that…

This is turning into a bit of a saga and maybe a future question for Bookchase®. Will Bookchase arrive? Finally, after small fiascos involving Lufthansa (on strike), Cathay Pacific (food poisoning) our air-freighted consignment of the first copies of Bookchase® in the world arrive in a sleepy little airport called Heathrow around 2am tomorrow morning (22 Thursday November).
We think the delays are caused by a conspiracy involving major Toy and Game makers - they’ve already heard about Bookchase®, know it’s good and they want to stop you getting your copy. Ok, this may be slightly exaggerated but the good news is, as of Friday this week, we will be shipping as many copies of Bookchase® as we can to the considerable advance orders. Not least to Waterstones who kindly ordered for over 170 of their stores. Here’s to seeing it in Piccadilly, Brussels, Leicester & Peterborough…(obviously, there are more but a list in a blog might be a bit dull).
We’ll be putting up a list of the stores on the website this week so you can find your nearest store…

Well, nearly.
We’re planning to create our own small TV channel to show some fab animations that Joe Davis has done. We’ll also be putting up video of anyone playing the game (including our recent BBC Interview with Olly Dearden - so watch this space - or rather, in hyperspace bookmark - www.bookchase.tv - coming to a web browser near you…
Bookchase® - not just a board game, a new way to read without turning pages…
