BBC Wiltshire Radio love Bookchase. They invited Tony (that’s me) back for a follow-up interview this morning. Sue Davis was standing in for Olly Dearden (who probably couldn’t take the pressure of any more time with Tony (:-)). I’m not sure what Gordon, the Breadman from Gt. Bedwyn will think if he heard himself mentioned - I said that we’d done swaps - free bread between now and Christmas (he delivers locally) and he got a free copy of Bookchase in return. We’re happy - he’s happy (well, he hasn’t played yet…). Roll on Christmas.

Had a warm, friendly chat with an ex-barrister called Jerina from Croatia who has given up law because she feels it is corrupting and too slow to change to the needs of modern society. She loved Bookchase® and was very keen to explore a version in Serbo-Croat? Can’t quite get my head around this one. Lots of questions about this: What is Bookchase® in Serbo-Croat? How big is Serbia?…

At the Hay Literature Festival this year I introduced myself to pretty much anyone who would stop long enough to listen. I gave a pencil to Ian Rankin - who seemed surprised to be recognised. He said he’d use it to ‘do his Sudoko’. He asked me why I was in Hay and I explained that I’d designed the Penguin deckchairs scattered in the muddy areas! I also mentioned that his work featured in Bookchase. He seemed genuinely interested in the game and said ‘it sounds ideal for Christmas - I’ll look out for it’. Can’t say fairer than that…
